Position Summary
The Associate Network Security Administrator is responsible for providing technical assistance and will support related computer systems, hardware, software, at all SES locations as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in basic network and system administration tasks, including setting up user accounts, devices, and access controls.
- Help with monitoring network security and assist in responding to alerts or potential threats under guidance.
- Participate in the installation and maintenance of security updates, patches, and configurations on company systems.
- Support troubleshooting of laptops, PCs, printers, mobile devices, and network equipment.
- Work with senior team members to learn security policies, help document procedures, and contribute to regular system checks.
- Assist in routine backup procedures and disaster recovery testing.
- Support the set up and management of company tablets and mobile phones using mobile device management (MDM) tools.
- Participate in training sessions and develop technical skills related to security tools and frameworks.
- Travel occasionally to SES locations for on-site support.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support IT operations.
Education and Experience
Required
- Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; OR relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+).
- 1-2 years of experience in an IT support, help desk, or junior system/network role.
- Familiarity with basic networking concepts: routers, switches, firewalls.
- Understanding of common security principles: passwords, user access, software updates.
- Basic knowledge of Windows OS and standard office software.
- Willingness to learn about security tools and risk management practices.
- Good problem-solving skills, eager to take on challenges and learn.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred
- Experience with network monitoring tools, Fortinet, or Ubiquiti equipment.
- Interest in pursuing certifications such as Fortinet NSE 1-2, CompTIA Security+, Network+, CCNA, or other industry related certifications.
Job Demands and Work Environment
- Frequent walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods.
- Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5 pm, or as needed.
- Onsite at corporate location with some travel to support other SES sites as needed.
- Occasional moving and lifting of equipment up to 25 pounds.
