About the Role:
Be a key leader in our Department of Hospital Medicine. As Associate Medical Director, you'll champion high-quality, patient-centered care and teamwork. You'll collaborate closely with the Medical Director on daily operations and spearhead our efforts in stroke care.
Key Responsibilities (Shared with Medical Director):
- Daily workflow and ensuring optimal hospitalist coverage.
- Addressing patient flow and clinical concerns.
- Administrator-on-call responsibilities.
- Participation in recruitment and hospital committees.
Dedicated Responsibilities (Stroke Focus):
- Investigate all stroke-related issues.
- Act as the main point of contact between Stroke Coordinators and Hospital Medicine.
- Communicate with providers on stroke-related measures (e.g., Statin on Discharge, DVT Prophylaxis).
- Educate Hospital Medicine on stroke updates.
- Train providers on RRT Stroke protocols and Stroke Event Note creation.
- Ensure compliance with yearly stroke education requirements (reading/signing manual, completing 2 educations).

- FTE: 0.75 Clinical, 0.25 Administrative
- Reports To: Medical Director, Chair of Hospital Medicine (Lahey Hospital Medical Center)
