About the Role

Responsible for providing strategic support to the functions within Medical Affairs (MA) organization, which may include Field Medical, Medical Communications, HEOR functions, by facilitating the delivery of key initiatives and balancing the management, execution, and communication of multiple high-priority projects at any given time. Ensures that key initiatives are planned, integrated, communicated, and executed successfully and on time including input from all key stakeholders and in accordance with a high standard of excellence. Responsible for leading the development of processes and metrics to improve operational efficiency and enhance the performance of the group.

Your Contributions (include, but are not limited to):

  • Provide both strategic and project management oversight of key initiatives as identified by the Leadership Team which may include the functional leaders of Field Medical, Medical Communications, and HEOR, that require a high level of organization, change management support, strategic thinking, and alignment of cross-functional leaders and teams to achieve the desired outcome

  • Project manage the work of the cross-functional teams, keeping them on schedule and on target. Identify bottlenecks or issues and propose resolutions to enable core work to move forward

  • Partner with the Leadership Team members to advance key initiatives and execute annual business and budget planning processes including strategic planning and tactical implementation. Ensure Leadership Team members have the information and context needed to make well-informed decisions. Ensure bidirectional communication of activities effectively throughout the organization

  • Support content development of executive-level briefings and presentations. Support capabilities for Advisory Board operations, and lead integration of meetings and congress planning

  • Partner with functions within Medical Affairs to find effective ways of working to integrate cross-functionally with other key internal stakeholders

  • Develop metrics and processes to enhance performance, improve efficiency, and address the evolving needs of our people and culture

  • Oversee the advancement and development of analytics capabilities relevant to functional business needs; track KPIs and enable reporting of required metrics utilizing relevant data science solutions, data visualization tools, and dashboards

  • Enable benchmarking to drive fit-for-purpose capabilities

Requirements
  • BS/BA degree and 10+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech experience that includes proven results across cross-functional stakeholders OR

  • MA degree (preferred) and 8+ years of similar experience noted above

  • Previous managerial/functional management experience also required

  • Emerging as an internal thought leader with technical and/or business expertise

  • Applies in-depth knowledge of own area of expertise to solve problems

  • Applies in-depth understanding and may guide others on how own discipline integrates within the department as well as impact to other departments and understands contribution to Neurocrine's achievement of business objectives

  • Applies expertise to manage critical projects and/or relationships

  • Integrates analysis of business objectives and strategic direction to resolve problems and recommend solutions

  • Has input into short-term strategy and may be involved in long-term strategy on a functional level

  • Strong communications, problem-solving, analytical thinking, influencing skills

The annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay is $165,100.00-$238,900.00. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as primary work location, complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 30% of the earned base salary and eligibility to participate in our equity based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan (with company match), paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
