Your job responsibilities
- Perform advanced, professional land surveying work
- Supervise, review, approve, and sign for the technical work of others under responsible charge
- Interpret contracts, plans, maps and record documents to determine scope of work, detailed plans, and resources needed for completion
- Prepare plans, calculations, maps, details and specifications; responsible for work performed, stamp and sign documents
- Schedule and dispatch surveying team, tracks hours
- Coordinate jobsite safety; ensure that activities, tools, barriers, and protective equipment comply with Cal OSHA standards
- Supervise employees by project; train and mentor survey team members
- Establish and maintain quality assurance and quality control programs; perform job site visits
- Project Manager responsible for preparing estimates and contracts; monitor budget, results, and client satisfaction.
What you must have to apply
- Professional Land Surveyor License (PLS) in the State of California
- 6+ years of experience in surveying, including field experience in construction, land development or related surveys
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with related major course work may be substituted for 4 years of experience
- Project Management and leadership experience in a team-based environment
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, survey software, related technical tools
- Demonstrated record of successful job completion, budget control and client satisfaction
- At least two years of experience as an Assistant Surveyor or equal
- A clean driving record and valid driver's license.
What we prefer you have
- Knowledge in the principals, practices, and techniques for surveying and mapping
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in operation of field survey equipment
- Skill in project management, leading a team, delegating tasks, and managing budgets
- Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, county and city statutes, rules, ordinances, codes, and policies
- Proficiency in the use of personal computers, word processing and spread sheet software
- Ability to make complex computations and to check plans, maps, calculations, legal descriptions, and specifications
- Strong math skills in Geometry and Trigonometry
Physical Demands
Work is performed mostly in office settings. Some outdoor work is required. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move heavy objects. The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and/or near moving mechanical parts or in precarious positions. The employee is occasionally exposed to traffic, hazardous plants, insects, reptiles, and animals.

Compensation and Benefits
- Pay Rate $86,207 - $110,080 based on relevant experience
