This position located at the Lilly Corporate Center in Indianapolis, IN, reports to the Senior Director- Corporate Financial Reporting. You will be a key contributor to the Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) team and will be responsible for many aspects within the CFR month-end closing process and quarterly external financial reporting. Interaction with other CFR teams, Corporate Financial Planning (CFP), Global Business Solutions (GBS) - General Accounting, Global Treasury, Corporate Tax, Corporate Manufacturing, and other finance functions is essential. Responsibilities include: Preparing accounting entries and executing the corporate consolidations process, including external management reporting for the Company; Troubleshoot accounting issues with affiliates, Business Knowledge Process Center (BPKC), CFP, country/regional controllers, GBS, Corporate Tax, Global Treasury and team members of CFR. This position will also serve as power-user for SAP Consolidations/Management Reporting and assist with any SAP changes impacting the corporate reporting, as well as help conduct training sessions.
Key Objectives / Deliverables:
Prepare and post top-level journal vouchers
Execute the corporate consolidations process within SAP
Assist in publishing internal and external and financial results
Partner with external auditors to support the quarterly review and annual audit of Lilly consolidated financial statements
Provide accurate and timely accounting guidance to Finance and Affiliates, as needed, in assuring compliance with Lilly Global Accounting Policies and Practices
Pursue opportunities for streamlining, improving, and automating processes
Maintain Lilly Consolidated legal entity structure within SAP systems
Coordinate SAP systems changes and upgrades, including testing and training
What You Will Do:
Corporate Closing Coordination: Ensure closing and consolidation vouchers are prepared and processed accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Monitor Non-SAP affiliate trial balance submissions. Work with other CFR team members and learn all aspects of the Corporate financial consolidation process sufficient to share responsibilities; Review and coordination with the Financial Controls Organization (FCO) to optimize our SOx processes; Troubleshoot issues with affiliate and GBS accounting personnel, CFP and BPKC, and country/regional controllers. Prepare Corporate OID schedule. Pursue opportunities to streamline processes within the closing timeline. Provide accounting operational and technical guidance to affiliates and other corporate areas (Tax, Treasury, Manufacturing) in the form of training, policies, and adequate instructions to ensure that we maintain a quality control environment, make efficient use of company resources, and assure compliance with Lilly Global Accounting Policies and Practices. Understand link between external reporting and management reporting to ensure that we account for transactions properly in SAP and provide appropriate guidance to affiliates.
SAP Power User: Build SAP expertise to eventually become an SAP power-user for S4 Hana. Provide training as necessary to members of CFR and other affiliate/functional personnel who need access to SAP Consolidations. Take the lead to perform changes in the SAP consolidations module, as well as testing related to SAP Upgrades when they occur to maintain an adequate control environment. Seek opportunities to provide coaching and consulting to make others more effective and ensure (along with colleagues in BPKC) that we leverage the power of SAP appropriately.
External Financial Reports: Prepare certain consolidated financial statements, footnotes and analyses at quarter-end. Assist in preparation and review of all external reporting for the Earnings Release, Audit Committee, Investor Relations and 10-Q and 10-K filings. Look for opportunities to streamline reporting within SAP and other systems and processes.
Other Special Projects: maintain year-end reporting schedules; closing calendar and contacts; assist with government reporting; assist with ongoing system upgrades; other special projects as identified throughout the year.
Your Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics or similar field of study

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$57,750 - $129,800
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
