Job Title: Part-time Associate General Counsel
Location: Chicago, IL or Boston, MA
Schedule: 20hr/week; 2-3 days on-site (Chicago) or 1 day on-site (Boston)
Salary: $170,000
My client is a leading healthcare data and analytics company dedicated to improving healthcare affordability, quality, and access. They collaborate with health plans, providers, researchers, and life science companies to advance value-based care, health equity, and cost transparency. They are looking to bring on their 3rd legal hire to their exceptional legal department.
Position Overview: The Part-Time Associate General Counsel will provide legal support and guidance to the executive team and various departments. This role involves reviewing and drafting legal documents, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and managing legal risks associated with the company's operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Healthcare Data Privacy: Ensure compliance with healthcare data privacy regulations, including HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant laws.
- Regulatory Compliance: Develop and implement policies and procedures to comply with federal and state healthcare regulations.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks related to data privacy and security.
- Document Review: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents with a focus on data privacy and security.
- Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to staff on healthcare data privacy and compliance issues.
- Collaboration: Work closely with IT and compliance teams to ensure data protection measures are in place.
- Litigation Support: Assist in managing litigation, arbitration, and mediation proceedings related to data privacy breaches.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Experience: 5+ years of legal experience in health tech/data analytics industry.
- Licensure: Active bar membership in Chicago or Massachusetts.
- Must have IT knowledge and healthcare analytics expertise.
