We are currently looking for a Full Time Associate General Counsel to join our General Counsel Health team located at the Chickasaw Nation Medical Center.

Summary:

Provide CNDC leadership with sound and solution-oriented legal representation and policy analysis.

Responsibilities:
In the performance of all duties, support the Chickasaw Nation team's mission of enhancing the overall quality of life of the Chickasaw people
In the performance of all job duties, must provide the best in professional service and support all CNDC Departments in the performance of their respective core functions
Provides direct and ongoing project management and problem solving in relation to potentially difficult or challenging in-house legal matters
Provides solution-oriented legal representation to all CNDC Departments as directed, and other Chickasaw Nation Departments and/or CNDC subsidiaries
Serves as primary point-of-contact for assigned client-Departments and designated legal subject matter (eg, construction law, employment law, business law, etc.)
As directed, prepares and finalizes legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, and negotiates, writes, reviews, and finalizes contracts, reports, research memoranda, correspondence, and other legal documents
As directed, coordinates with outside-counsel in the provision of legal services
Coach and mentor subordinate staff/interns as appropriate
As appointed, represents CNDC and/or OGC on appropriate boards and committees
Provides legal guidance to CNDC employees that are subpoenaed to appear in court as witnesses
As directed, responds to legal request, by subpoena or informal means, for records or other document production
As directed, prepares formal legal opinions on behalf of the OGC
As directed, represents CNDC facilities in litigation matters in front of the Chickasaw Nation Office of the Gaming Commissioner
Provides first class customer service - courteous and helpful to all internal and external customer types

Maintains knowledge of and follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and SOPs for assigned area, eg MICS, TICS, hospital standards, health codes, food sanitation, accounting principles, etc.

4 years directly related experience

Education:

Juris Doctorate

Essential:
Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school required

Standard Driver's License
Pass general background check
Chickasaw Bar Association

Essential:
Must be a member of (or applicant to) the Chickasaw Nation Bar and Oklahoma State Bar. Must be able to obtain and maintain Oklahoma Bar License
