POSITION OVERVIEW

In our Pittsburgh Office, an Associate Advisor (AA) focuses on gaining expertise in financial planning and becoming proficient at advice while building their client base. The AA continues their skill development in advice and business development through mentoring and partnering with a Partner Advisor (PA), Lead Advisor (LA), and/or a Financial Advisor (FA). The AA will work with the team on financial plan preparation and delivery and investment and wealth management analysis and recommendations. The AA uses their knowledge and expertise to construct personalized financial plans that aim to achieve their clients' financial goals. The AA conducts regular client

reviews and checks in with their clients to reevaluate the clients' current situation and plan accordingly.


Roles and Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Grow the business by consistently executing business development activities
  • Attend Sales Meetings, Continuing Education Sessions, and firm-sponsored training
  • Proactively develop a network of contacts in the community that will lead to new relationships
  • Contribute to the building of the firm's brand through active participation in marketing initiatives
  • Seek opportunities to grow existing client relationships through increased wallet share

Advice

  • Gain a high level of professional expertise in providing financial advice to clients
  • Serve as the clients' essential partner

Client Service

  • Learn the Kovitz Way of providing client service and follow internal policies and procedures
  • Develop a service model that adheres to company expectations and serves the needs of the client
  • Coordinate with the advisor team to field client calls and requests
  • Take the lead on complex analysis and decision making

Leadership

  • Effectively lead, coordinate, and oversee the work of the team, cultivating a collaborative and high-performance work environment
  • Deliver consistent and valuable feedback to fellow professionals within the firm, promoting growth and improvement

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Active Series 65 or Series 7 and Series 66 certification is required

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP ), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC ) designation, or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA ) designation or a commitment to obtaining these

qualifications within a specified time frame is preferred

  • A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in delivering direct client advice is required for this position
  • Proven track record of developing business successfully through traditional channels
  • High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification
