Contributions As an Associate Disruption Designer, you will support the delivery of impactful, people-centered transformation for government clients. You'll contribute to the application of our Design Intelligence process by assisting with research, helping to facilitate workshops, and co-creating communications and change plans alongside experienced team members. This is an exciting opportunity to learn human-centered and design thinking methods while helping organizations embrace new ways of working. Responsibilities: Assist with discovery and innovation workshops for stakeholders using human-centered design methods and tools
Help collect, organize, and synthesize user research and data to support storytelling and insight generation
Collaborate with team members to draft communication materials, training content, and change management plans
Support the development of key performance indicators for change adoption and assist in tracking them
Participate in user engagement activities such as pilot programs, training sessions, and feedback collection
Contribute to documentation, including personas, communication materials, and training guides
Build relationships with team members and stakeholders through clear, respectful communication
Ensure high-quality deliverables by following established templates and guidance from senior team members
Contribute to team brainstorming and internal initiatives that grow our design and change management practices Qualifications U.S Citizens only Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance 0-3 years of experience in a related field (e.g., change management, human-centered design, communications, user research)
Some experience or academic background in design thinking, service design, communications, or organizational change
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working in a collaborative, project-based environment
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Curious, empathetic, and eager to learn new methods and approaches Bonus Points: Previous work experience in or with the federal government Experience using collaboration tools like Mural, Miro, or FigJam
Experience in Human-Centered Design / Customer Experience Design Bachelor's Degree or formal training/certifications in change management, service design, or related fields Experience working on multi-disciplinary teams including Service Designers, UX and UI designers, technologists, data scientists, engineers, and solution architects Previous work experience as a consultant Experience working within an Agile framework About steampunk Steampunk is a Change Agent in the Federal contracting industry, bringing new thinking to clients in the Homeland, Federal Civilian, Health and DoD sectors.
