Overview:The Associate Director of Housing serves as a member of the housing operations team. Primary responsibilities include occupancy management, billing, room changes, technology purchases, and general office administration. The Associate Director develops and manages the non-university owned off-campus housing program. - Assist with resident room and roommate assignment process for more than 5000 residential beds with director and administrative assistant
- Effective and in-time communication with Residence Life staff regarding open spaces and consolidation to facilitate moves
- Responsible for tracking and monitoring all room change requests efficiently and effectively, coordinate student room changes, consolidations and billing adjustments as necessary
- Housing contract in-take, processing and management processes for more than 5000 residential beds
- Serve as a member of the Housing Review Board to review requests to be released from the housing contract
- Collaborates with Facilities staff on management of the Persona card access system
- Oversees damage billing process
- Manages communication with residence life staff on opening and closing, health and safety inspections, and room inventories
- Coordinates and maintains furniture inventory for staff apartments and offices
- Coordinates with residence life on room condition reports for students moving in and out
- Prepares damage billing with appropriate parties
- Develop, maintain, update, market Off-campus Housing program
- Communicates with rising seniors about off -campus housing options
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Responsible for managing break housing:
- August early arrivals, Thanksgiving, Winter Break, Spring break, opening and closing and card access
- Create and set up break housing application on MyHousing
- Review and approve break housing requests
- Coordinate key access
- Generate and share rosters with campus partners
- Summer Housing
- Updating annual contract, marketing, assigning rooms, responding to student issues concerns
- Room assignments for summer residents
- Coordinate move in/move out and room inspections
- Generate summer housing bills
- Coordinate card access for summer housing
- Identifying marketing /publication needs and create content for housing social media accounts
- Regularly update Housing Operations procedures manual
- Manage department inventory of technology hardware and peripherals
Education Requirements:
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of current work experience in residential life at a college or universityKnowledge and use of THD software, E-Rez, Colleague, and other software systems or ability to learn and effectively use systems
Well-developed supervisory and administrative skills
Advanced knowledge of student development and a strong commitment to Residential Life and Student Affairs
Strong customer service focus, communication, writing skills, and ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience working in a diverse, fast-paced, student-centered service environment
Innovative problem-solving ability
Well-developed interpersonal and presentation/public speaking skills
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and work positively and productively with parents, faculty, staff and community members
Good working knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, and Publisher), Adobe Suite, Social Media, and web-based marketing programs
Must be available to work nights, weekends, and provide holiday coverage
