Advertising/Posting Title:Associate Director of Grant Administration and Technical Assistance
Posting Summary:Oversee daily operations of USDA/NIFA's Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program, which funds applied research in twelve Northeast states and the District of Columbia. Manage the Northeast regional SARE office, so as to fulfill the University of Vermont's obligations as a host institution for the SARE program. Collaborate with the Director to recruit and coordinate the SARE Administrative Council and Technical Committee, establish grant proposal review teams and special purpose committees, oversee administration of funded grant projects, ensure compliance with funding requirements and completion of grant objectives, conduct education and publicity activities to increase awareness of SARE grant opportunities, and train grant applicants in the specific requirements of the SARE program.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience):Master's degree or equivalent and three to five years of related experience in a relevant managerial position. Experience working with farmers through a business, consulting, extension, or research capacity. Demonstrated ability to supervise people effectively. Exemplary written and oral communication skills. Ability to engage diverse audiences.
Desirable Qualifications:Experience in agriculture or food systems.
Anticipated Pay Range:$68,000 to $78,000
Other Information:Occasional evenings and weekends for travel and Administrative Council meetings.
Special Conditions:Weekend work required, Non-standard work hours required, A probationary period may be required, Contingent on continued funding, Travel to and from worksites required, This position is eligible for full-time telework in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position, Open to current UVM employees only
