Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in relevant field. 5 or more years of experience working at a large public university.

Position Summary: The Associate Director of Disability Resources and Outreach is an integral part of Accessibility and Testing and reports to the Director. This position is primarily responsible for overseeing the fundamental alteration review process and appeals, acting as the liaison to the Equal Opportunity Office and the Office of Legal Affairs, and working with other issues related to disability legal compliance. Additionally, this position directs Accessibility and Testing's outreach efforts, including overseeing the department's student groups and planning and implementing outreach and awareness initiatives, including the annual scholarship reception. This position will develop and maintain robust synchronous and asynchronous training for faculty and instructors on disability related topics and universal design to strengthen the universities knowledge and commitment to fostering accessible learning environments.

This position supervises a full-time Intake and Service Animals Coordinator, a 63% time Temporary Impairments Coordinator, the Outreach Graduate Assistant, and the part-time Accommodations Assistant. This position serves as a member of the leadership team in creating and updating policies and procedures and strategic planning for the department. Additionally, this position is responsible for managing a small caseload of students with disabilities.

•  Knowledge and application of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other legal knowledge related to college students with disabilities.
•  Strong critical thinking and sound decision-making skills.
•  Knowledge of best practices related to student appeals of accommodations determinations and other disability-related matters in higher education.
•  Knowledge of academic and physical impact of a variety of disabilities.
•  Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•  Excellent organizational skills.
•  Ability to work with minimal direction and to advise others in candidate's areas of expertise.

Duties/Responsibilities: Leadership and Staff Supervision.
•  Provide strategic leadership, planning, and budgetary oversight to enhance outreach, education, and support services for students with disabilities. Develop, implement, and assess policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal disability regulations and institutional standards.
•  Serve as a key member of the Accessibility and Testing Leadership Team, contributing to the department's long-term vision and providing direction in the Director's absence. Represent Accessibility and Testing and the University of Georgia at campus, state, and national levels, positioning the institution as a leader in disability services in higher education.
•  Directly supervise a diverse team, including a full-time Intake and Service Animal Coordinator, a 63%-time Temporary Impairments Coordinator, a part-time Accommodations Coordinator, and one graduate assistant. Foster a culture of professional growth, mentorship, and engagement to strengthen team effectiveness.
•  Actively promote and participate in the development, retention & engagement of each staff member. Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive work environment that values innovation, best practices in accessibility, and supports contributions to the field of disability services.
•  Provide expert guidance to Accessibility and Testing staff and campus partners on disability compliance, the fundamental alteration process, and the department-level appeals process.
