The Opportunity
Lesley University is seeking an Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions. Collaborating with the VP of Enrollment and reporting to the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management, Visitor Services, & Events, the Associate Director will be an integral part of the Enrollment team.

The Associate Director of Admissions will be responsible for the development and implementation of a small recruitment territory that helps the University achieve its enrollment goals within a growing market. Responsibilities require planning and attending high school and/or community college visits, college fairs, portfolio reviews, information sessions and receptions within their assigned territory. This is a twelve-month position with consistent and regular travel throughout the year with peak periods of travel taking place during the fall and spring. The Associate Director will also be responsible for building and maintaining personalized working relationships with strategic high schools, secondary school counselors, art teachers, independent counselors, prospective students, families and Lesley alumni.

In addition, the Associate Director will assist with overseeing the day-to-day operations in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and assist with managing a small team of assistant directors . For recruitment duties, the associate director will conduct timely outreach using text, phone, email, effectively to move students from inquiry through to enrollment. The successful candidate will be effective at presenting key marketing messages and providing academic/artistic information leading to positive and informed decision-making between prospective students and Lesley University.

Qualities and Capabilities

A successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred.

  • 3-6+ years of related experience required. Professional experience in student recruitment, university admissions, and/or guidance/college counseling preferred.

  • Demonstrated record of commitment to diversity and cultural sensitivity while working with diverse student populations.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a data-oriented and analytical environment that has a high level of individual accountability.

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, take initiative, and work autonomously.

  • Strong organizational skills and the demonstrated ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, public speaking skills, and excellent written communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively use phone, email, and social media to engage with prospective students.

  • Ability and willingness to conduct consistent and regular travel throughout the year. Peak periods of travel take place during the fall and spring; approximately 12 weeks in the fall and 6-8 weeks in the spring.

  • Proficiency in working with Microsoft Word and Excel, managing databases (e.g., Colleague), web applications, CRM and have a willingness to continue to explore the use of technology and social media in the college admissions process.
