Thisis a senior leadership role within the People Directorate, with responsibilityfor the strategic delivery of Learning & Development and OrganisationalDevelopment services across the Trust.

Youwill ensure our training offer meets national standards, supports localoperational needs, and delivers real impact through collaboration with internaland external partners.

Youwill lead the OD team to drive organisational growth, supporting strategiesaround EDI, wellbeing, and leadership development. Working closely with theDeputy Chief People Officer, you will align L&D and OD services to theTrust and People strategies.

Youllbring proven experience of leading L&D and OD teams, alongside a strongtrack record in implementing improvement programmes that build workforcecapability and organisational effectiveness.

Main duties of the job AsAssociate Director Learning and Organisational Development, you will lead thestrategic design and delivery of high-impact learning and development and ODprogrammes that support staff, teams, and organisational growth.

Youwill ensure training meets national standards and local needs, and that ODstrategies support leadership development, inclusion, and wellbeing. Workingcollaboratively across the Trust and with system partners, you will shape aresponsive and forward-thinking development offer.

Youwill be an experienced leader with strong influencing skills, capable ofdriving improvement, building high-performing teams, and aligning developmentactivity with organisational priorities. A proactive, inclusive approach and apassion for workforce development are essential.

Job responsibilities The AssociateDirector of Learning, Development and Organisational Development (OD) will beresponsible for and lead the Trusts needs analyses, development, andimplementation of all non-medical education, training, learning and developmentas part of the Trusts Workforce and OD Strategy and implementation plan.The postholder will have senior level responsibility for the development andimplementation of the Trusts learning, leadership and organisational developmentstrategies.

The postholderwill provide professional leadership and directly lead and manage the Learningand Development and Organisational Development functions.

The postholderwill work to the Chief People Officer and will closely align with and provideprofessional support to the Deputy Chief People Officer to ensure an integratedHuman Resources and Organisational Development offer.

KEY RESULTAREAS:

1.StrategicWorkforce Development

1.1Towork closely with the Chief People Officer, the Deputy Chief People Officer,andother senior leaders on the development and implementation of the TrustsWorkforce and Organisational Development Strategy aligned to service andfinancial strategies and consistent with the organisations values.

1.2Tolead the development of and be responsible for the delivery of the Trustslearning and development strategy implementation plan including clearperformance targets.

1.3Tolead the development of the Trusts learning and development provisionincluding values-based training and the leadership and management developmentoffer.

1.4Tolead on governance and assurance of all training delivery including the Trustsprovision for mandatory and essential to job role training.

1.5Tolead of the development of apprenticeship training activity across the Trustincluding the planning, monitoring, and application of the TrustsApprenticeship Levy.

1.6Tolead on the Trusts approach to the development for support staff.

1.7Developand implement education, training, learning and development programmes topromote the delivery of high quality, effective, efficient and safe services.

1.8Tolead on the learning and development parts of the Trusts priority programme ofmaking SWYPFT A Great place to Work.

1.9Towork with other Human Resources system leaders on delivery of systems planswhich support integrated and seamless services to local communities.

1.10Tolead the alignment of the Trusts learning needs analyses and delivery plans,policies and procedures with the National People Plan and other key national,regional and local developments.

1.11Toensure that the Trust has a budget plan linked to organisational strategies,service needs, and linked to place-based and ICS priorities.

1.12Responsiblefor the development of L&D policies and procedures which support effective,safe and compassionate services.

1.13Developmentof L&D Performance Reports for the Trust Board, Executive Team andOperational Management Group.

1.14To actas the lead HR representative for partnership arrangements with regional andnational NHS bodies, universities, and other arms length training bodies.

1.15To actas the Trust representative for all non-medical education, training, learningand development partnerships internally and externally to the Trust.

1.16Torepresent the Trust for all non-medical education, training, learning anddevelopment at place and across both West Yorkshire and Harrogate ICS, andSouth Yorkshire and Bassetlaw ICS.

1.17Toadvise and provide professional guidance to the Executive Management Team andTrust Board on national education and training best practice.

1.18Toensure that the Trust has strategic and operational learning and developmentplans linked to service and financialplans.

1.19Toensure that the Trusts non-educational offer is aligned where possible withthe medical education offer to ensure economises of scale and efficiencies.

2.OrganisationalDevelopment

2.1To have senior level responsibility for development and implementation of theTrusts learning and development strategies which supports the delivery of highquality services, productivity and innovation.

2.2To work with the Chief People Officer and Deputy Chief People Officer on thedevelopment and implementation of the Workforce and Organisational DevelopmentStrategy.

2.3To have strategic responsibility and lead the directorates provision forleadership and management development and support.

2.4To support system wide organisational development including with key leaders oncollaborative system working.

3.Equality and Inclusion

3.1To take an active senior role to promote and embed Equality, Diversity andInclusion into working practices and through appropriate governance within theteam, ensure that we meet our statutory responsibilities for EDI for ourworkforce.

3.2To actively promote and develop plans which reflect the Trustscommitment to a diverse and inclusive workforce.

3.3Ensure that equality and diversityintegrated into all aspects of the education, training, learning anddevelopment plans and strategies.

3.4To ensure that the Trust has clear and effective plans for leadership andmanagement development, apprenticeships, and training.

3.5To develop plans and policies which actively support equality, diversity andinclusion.

4.1To take an active senior role to promote and embed HWB into workingpractices and through appropriate governance within the team, ensure that wemeet respond appropriately to our obligations for HWB
