Purpose: The Associate Director, Launch Execution is responsible for driving product launches through robust project management for US Launch Readiness Teams. This position reports to the Therapeutic Area Lead in New Products and Business Development (NPBD) with a focus on immunology.

You will be responsible for:

  • Drives launch planning and execution with Launch Readiness Team Leaders (Director of Marketing or Group Product Director)
  • Ensures project plans are current and relevant; identifies gaps and potential impact to timelines.
  • Coordinates launch team meetings, suggests agenda items; works closely with launch team to provide content and co-leads and facilitates meetings with launch leaders
  • Regularly reviews status reports and tracks activities with Launch Readiness Team Leaders
  • Maintains team directory and flags changes
  • Owns governance (Launch Challenge Sessions & Launch Readiness Reviews) for Launch Readiness Teams leveraging the Launch Excellence guidance document, tools & resources.
  • Advises launch readiness team members on Launch Excellence Framework resources and providing feedback to the Launch Excellence (LEX) Team.
  • Creates and maintains all relevant project documentation, such as project plans, presentations, dashboards, spreadsheets, etc.
  • Defines/improves processes.
  • Monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement.
  • Fostering a culture of collaboration and active participation by team members
  • Ensure that common Launch Excellence activities are shared with peers to drive standardization, efficiencies and launch learnings

This position will require partnerships with key stakeholders, including Directors of Marketing, Group Product Directors, functional leaders from Medical Affairs, Scientific Affairs, Strategic Customer Group and other Centers of Excellence. Close collaboration will also be required with the Launch Excellence partners across the various therapeutic areas.

Qualifications / Requirements:

Education:

This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree; a post-graduate degree is preferred. Previous position(s) or rotation in a Marketing role preferred. Professional project management (e.g. PMP), change management (e.g. ProSci), or Six Sigma (e.g. Green Belt) certification is preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • 7 years of related project and/or change management industry work experience is required.
  • 5 years of experience in a commercial or R&D pharmaceutical field and a detailed knowledge of the drug development and launch process is preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of project planning, tracking, resource management, project planning, scheduling tools, and cross-project analytics is required. Examples are MS Project, Smartsheet, Planisware, and others.
  • Detailed knowledge of performance measurement, change management, and execution techniques (e.g. FPX) are required.
  • Strong decision-making skills are required. Applicant must understand how and when to make informed choices, when to escalate issues, and understand how analyzed risks may affect the decision-making process.
  • Applicant must be a self-starter, taking timely independent action in response to priorities in flux.
  • Applicants must have strength and a track record of influencing and impacting others cross-functionally through strong leadership, collaboration, constructive challenge, and stakeholder change management techniques.
  • Applicants must be comfortable and capable with conveying any message, quickly and easily, utilizing clear, positive, and persuasive communication (verbal and non-verbal). Written communications must be targeted to the audience, have logical flow, and utilize appropriate grammar and syntax.
  • Strong presentation generation (e.g. PowerPoint, etc.) skills as well as effortless delivery of presentations to various stakeholders, including senior leaders is required.
  • Strength and track record in building coalitions and aligning strategies among diverse organizations is required.
  • Applicants must have the ability to manage multiple large-scale initiatives simultaneously, triaging key priorities appropriately.
