Responsibilities

The CIMES Associate Director / Information Manager (IM) serves as a center administrator and is responsible for all activities of the Information Management Section. The IM also administers the activities of the Clearinghouse for Applied Research and Public Service, including Florida ExpertNet (ExpertNet) and the Graduate Candidate Information System (GCIS). As part of the CIMES leadership team, the IM assists in seeking funding, creating proposals, developing strategic plans, and budget planning. The IM may serve as PI/Co-PI on designated sponsored research projects.

  • Administers all activities of the Clearinghouse for Applied Research and Public Service, Florida ExpertNet and other related systems.
  • Serves as Florida ExpertNet liaison with all universities for data collection and other activities.
  • Coordinates data collection for ExpertNet.
  • Manages data for ExpertNet, including maintaining ontologies, indexing records, and performing data quality assurance.
  • Develops data management policies and procedures.
  • Assists with specifications and documentation.
  • Coordinates marketing for CIMES and Clearinghouse initiatives.
  • Provides reference services for Clearinghouse inquiries.
  • Serves as ExpertNet representative/founder on the Expert Finder Systems Forum Executive Committee.
  • Assists in designing, evaluating and improving user experience for assigned projects.
  • Serves as PI/CoPI and may serve as project director on CIMES sponsored research projects.
  • Serves as CIMES Associate Director
  • Manages the Information Management Section
  • Works with the CIMES co-directors to Manage administrative, personnel, and fiscal activities and other functions of the University as may be assigned.
  • Develop strategies, create policies, and address operational issues.
  • Develop policies and procedures for the operation of CIMES.
  • Identify and seek funding opportunities and help write proposals.
Qualifications


  • Master's degree in library/information science or a related degree.
  • At least three years' experience supervising staff.
  • At least five years of related experience working in a data-focused environment working with IT professionals.
  • Experience in managing projects and deliverables.
  • Experience with overseeing the design and evaluation of web user interfaces.
  • Knowledge of systems development, relational databases and data structures.
  • Strong organizational, project, and time management skills to lead or coordinate multiple projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Marketing and outreach experience.
  • Experience writing proposals.
