ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR - PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Associate Director, Project Management to lead complex projects and programs within our Health Care Payor BPaaS (Business Process as a Service) division. This role is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale healthcare payer initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals, regulatory requirements, and client expectations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of healthcare payer operations, BPaaS models, and project management best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Project & Program Leadership:
Lead end-to-end project delivery for large-scale BPaaS initiatives in the healthcare payer domain.
Define project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables in alignment with business goals and client expectations.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and resource allocation strategies.
Oversee multiple workstreams and ensure cross-functional coordination.
Stakeholder & Client Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, senior leadership, and key stakeholders.
Facilitate executive-level communication and reporting on project status, risks, and milestones.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and external partners.
Operational & Risk Management:
Identify risks, dependencies, and roadblocks, developing mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
Drive compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS, NCQA) and industry best practices.
Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and project outcomes.
Team Leadership & Collaboration:
Manage project managers, business analysts, and cross-functional teams, ensuring high-performance execution.
Foster a culture of agility, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Provide coaching and mentorship to junior project managers and team members.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related field (MBA or PMP certification preferred).
8+ years of experience in project/program management within healthcare payer operations, BPaaS, or a related domain.
Strong knowledge of healthcare payer processes (e.g., claims, enrollment, provider management, billing).
Experience with BPaaS delivery models, outsourcing, and process transformation.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, ServiceNow).
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and SAFe frameworks.
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, and ACA plans.
Strong understanding of automation, AI, and digital transformation in healthcare operations.
