The Associate Director, IT Site Lead will be the primary IT leader for Denali's Salt Lake City (SLC) office, serving as an extension of our IT team headquartered in South San Francisco. This key role ensures that the IT infrastructure, applications, and services at the SLC site are fully aligned with our corporate IT strategies. The ideal candidate will bring experience in IT within a biotech manufacturing environment and will oversee all IT operations at the SLC location.

Key Accountabilities/Core Job Responsibilities:
  • IT Leadership: Act as the IT lead for the SLC facility, ensuring alignment with the corporate IT strategy and goals.
  • Collaboration: Develop and maintain strong business partnerships with site leadership and stakeholders, ensuring IT initiatives and services are effectively integrated with business objectives.
  • Infrastructure Management: Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and support of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage, and telecommunications at the SLC site.
  • End User Services: Manage end-user support and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction within the SLC facility.
  • Applications Support: Ensure that all applications and systems supporting the manufacturing processes are functioning optimally, including ERP, MES, and other critical systems.
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including FDA, GMP, and other biotech industry standards. Implement and maintain robust information security protocols.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage IT projects related to the SLC site, including the deployment of new systems and services.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external IT service providers and vendors, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop the IT team at the SLC site, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Lead direct report(s) through annual goal setting, growth planning, adherence to company policies, maintain training compliance and provide ongoing feedback on growth, development and areas of improvement.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field is preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in IT to include 3 years in a leadership role within a biotech or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment and 5 years of people management/coaching/mentorship experience is required
  • Extensive experience with biotech manufacturing IT systems, including ERP, MES, and laboratory systems.
  • Strong understanding of FDA regulations, GMP, and other biotech industry compliance standards.
  • Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure and end-user services.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead complex IT projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teams across multiple locations.
  • Experience with ERP and other enterprise applications is highly desirable.
  • Ability to travel as needed between Salt Lake City and South San Francisco.
