Job Description Summary

The Penn Collaborative is pleased to announce an opening for an Associate Director for the Beck Community Initiative. This person will work directly with the founder of the Penn Collaborative (Torrey Creed, PhD) to co-lead a growing team of experts in both the practice of implementation and the empirical study of its strategies and outcomes. This role directs and oversees one or more aspects of a research program/ department. Directs research team and resources to accomplish specific goals/ objectives. Responsible for planning activities for the specific research program, including implementation of policies and procedures.

Job Description

The Penn Collaborative for CBT and Implementation Science is a joint clinical, educational, and research partnership with community behavioral health providers, payers, and networks, all in pursuit of the same goal: placing tangible, evidence-based tools in the hands of the front-line staff who support individuals seeking recovery and wellness. Under the umbrella of the Penn Collaborative, the Beck Community Initiative has served since 2007 as a model for the successful implementation of CBT in community behavioral health settings, increasing access to CBT and other evidence-based practices for under-resourced communities in the United States and Low-and Middle-Income Countries.

The Penn Collaborative is pleased to announce an opening for an Associate Director for the Beck Community Initiative. This person will work directly with the founder of the Penn Collaborative (Torrey Creed, PhD) to co-lead a growing team of experts in both the practice of implementation and the empirical study of its strategies and outcomes. In partnership with Dr. Creed, the Associate Director will oversee the daily operations of the Beck Community Initiative, including three main areas of responsibility. First, the Associate Director will oversee CBT implementation across an increasing number of community mental health agencies and systems, co-leading the design and delivery of strategies to improve implementation readiness, increase knowledge and application of CBT skills, sustain CBT in routine practice over time, and use program evaluation data to improve outcomes. As such, the Associate Director will liaise directly with funding partners across multiple implementation partnerships at the local and state level, participate in the leadership meetings with our funders to collaborate on decisions and execute the resulting plans, and engage community partners across the Beck Community Initiative network on behalf of the Penn Collaborative. Second, the Associate Director will supervise the Operations team for the Beck Community Initiative, including the management of timelines, data collection, data management, and organization for learning in our live and web-based training arms. Finally, the Associate Director will directly provide implementation supports and strategies to community mental health partners, providing leadership on deliverables within implementation contracts including workshops, consultation, evaluation of CBT competence, supervision of CBT, and the sustainability of evidence-based mental health practices.

In addition, all Penn Collaborative team members may choose to participate in research, which may include NIMH-funded research and self-directed projects, grant writing, manuscript preparation, mentorship of junior staff members, and other academic and administrative endeavors. Qualifications
•  Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts, and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Masters level preferred.
•  Extensive experience in the implementation of evidence-based practices within community mental health contexts is required.
•  Established expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy is also required.
•  Experience providing and or supervising mental health care services in community mental health contexts is strongly preferred.
•  Proficiency in computer programs including Microsoft Office suite, and online survey software (REDCap, Qualtrics) is strongly preferred.
•  Outstanding organizational skills are essential. Exquisite attention to detail; the ability to manage multiple responsibilities including oversight of a team and a timeline of their deliverables; outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, particularly given the community partner aspect of this work; very strong supervisory skills; and the ability to work both autonomously and within a team are all essential for this position.
•  Individual must be skilled in communicating with diverse audiences.

$79,500.00 - $100,000.00 Annual Rate Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
