Job Description
The AbbVie Corporate Web Strategy & Governance team leads the marketing development of integrated corporate web channel experience strategies and web content and provides digital governance stewardship for AbbVies Corporate Marketing and Corporate Affairs organizations. We leverage our digital marketing subject matter expertise to create intuitive, inclusive, and seamless web experiences that inform, engage, and inspire exploration of AbbVies global impact to elevate AbbVies reputation, mitigate risk, and drive enterprise success.

The ideal candidate will exhibit an entrepreneurial mindset, digital marketing leadership, and an ability to influence internal stakeholders and external website owners across AbbVies corporate web ecosystem. The successful candidate will manage a complemented mix of brand and digital marketing strategy, content strategy, and web user experience responsibilities. They will serve as a marketing catalyst, driving AbbVies digital transformation, and will need to collaborate within a matrixed environment with internal and external partners. This includes the Corporate Marketing Brand, Content Strategy, and Social teams, as well as Corporate Communications, Global Therapeutics Communications & Public Affairs, Corporate Responsibility & Global Philanthropy, Corporate BTS, Medical, Regulatory, Legal, OEC, Media, Finance, Operations, Purchasing, brand and digital agencies, and technology partners.

This position is based at our headquarters in North Chicago, following our hybrid model (3 days per week on-site).

Key Role Responsibilities
  • Manages and supports corporate web and digital marketing strategies and tactics for AbbVies US and global affiliate corporate websites
  • Develops marketing briefs, project plans, and oversees development, anticipating and navigating potential barriers that may impact delivery
  • Partners with Corporate Affairs counterparts and enterprise functions to identify marketing opportunities to support their priorities through corporate website strategies
  • Informs and supports annual marketing planning and the strategy and roadmap, helping to identify opportunities to optimize and advance web experiences for key audiences
  • Informs and supports the Corporate Marketing brand and content strategies, ensuring consistent creative and messaging pull-through, and optimal content discovery and engagement on the web
  • Partners with Corporate BTS to articulate marketing business priorities and strategies, enabling them to support us with platform optimizations, innovations, and solutions
  • Leads, manages, or consults on user journey, information architecture, and user experience optimizations for corporate websites
  • Supports the pull-through of priority marketing web strategies, experiences, and platform optimizations to global affiliate and other AbbVie-branded corporate websites
  • Manages agency relationships, forging collaborative partnerships with their Account, Strategy, Project Management, Creative, Measurement, and Media teams
  • Informs the development of research and marketing measurement plans, including KPIs and other measures of brand, reputational, experience, and performance success
  • Utilizes analytics, market trends, competitive intelligence, and audience insights to inform strategic marketing decisions, recommendations, and optimizations
  • Informs Corporate Web team budgeting, financial plans, and forecasting to help ensure optimal investment allocation
  • Leads or supports additional marketing initiatives as defined by the Sr. Director, Corporate Strategy & Web Governance, and plays a key SME role in supporting Corporate Affairs Future Fit initiatives
Qualifications
  • BS/BA in advertising, marketing, communications, user experience design, or relevant degree; MBA a plus
  • 8+ years of web, digital, brand, and content marketing experience
  • Experience leading or participating in annual marketing planning cycles, with a proven ability to translate business priorities and insights into cross-channel marketing strategies and plans
  • Ability to evaluate marketing creative and messaging, to assess creative strategy alignment
  • Adept at planning, implementing, and measuring paid (e.g., display, native, video, SEM, social), earned (e.g., SEO, media outreach, employee advocacy), owned (e.g., web, social, mobile), and sponsorship marketing initiatives
  • Experience managing digital agencies and solutions teams, delegating and leading them to deliver marketing initiatives that meet or exceed goals
  • Established track record of leading or managing large-scale, high-visibility marketing projects of significant organizational impact, delivering them on time and target to meet or exceed goals
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to lead or influence digital marketing research and measurement planning, reporting, and insight extraction
  • Effective stakeholder and relationship management experience; able to interact and build trusted relationships across multiple levels in a matrixed organization
  • Proven ability to lead and drive the integration of cross-functional teams across various levels in a matrixed organization
  • A digital marketers understanding and experience with enablement tools, platforms, and solutions (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager, Google Analytics 4, Siteimprove, Looker, ASANA, Knak)
  • Experience presenting to and influencing mid-level and senior leaders across an enterprise
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
