The Associate Director for R&D Consolidations, Data Analytics and Automation will help oversee R&D Finance business processes and systems, including stewardship for Strategic Plan and Business Plan. The role will work closely with R&D partners to enhance and simplify its processes and to help integrate newly acquired businesses. The position is critical in driving innovation and efficiency across financial operations in alignment with our R&D goals.
Key Objectives/ Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of automation solutions to streamline financial processes, reduce manual efforts and drive system innovation across R&D Finance.
Assist with strategic planning and business planning within R&D finance.
Ensure alignment with global innovation roadmaps and cross-functional teams (e.g., Tech at Lilly, Corporate Finance, LRL), including representation on the Innovation Functional Champions Network.
Develop and provide expertise in R&D data domains: data relationships, data quality, understanding of data needs and the associated technology toolsets and methodologies.
Foster an innovation culture and build capabilities across global R&D finance teams.
Collaborate with partners to understand their respective business and solve resourcing and financial issues.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously drive innovation.
Coordinate integration of newly acquired businesses into existing financial systems and processes.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Analytics, Finance, Data Strategy or related fields.
Minimum of 5 years of finance or related work experience.
Demonstrated high learning agility with excellent analytical skills.
Strong project management skills with a proven history of leading cross-functional initiatives.
Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python), SAP, and digital capabilities (PowerBI, Power Automate).

Master's degree in a relevant field.
Understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
Strategic thinking with the ability to identify viable alternatives and recommend clear courses of action.

Ability to translate abstract problems into clear and actionable project plans.
Demonstrated communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
Excellent prioritization skills with attention to detail.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$123,000 - $180,400
Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
