Supply Chain BPKC Organization

The mission of the Global Supply Chain Business Process Knowledge Center (BPKC) is to be a trusted partner in the delivery of projects, business support and consulting, and facilitation of knowledge sharing for SAP and related technologies. The BPKC provides global business process knowledge and support, leveraging SAP and related technologies to implement innovative solutions that enable delivery of medicines to people around the world today, tomorrow, and to improve our compliance position.

This position leads the Global Supply Chain BPKC Plan, Buy & Make team that includes the following scope: Demand Management, Production Planning, Detailed Scheduling, Launch Management, MRP Purchasing, External Manufacturing, Manufacturing Operations, Production Execution, Manufacturing Execution Systems, Global Flavor Management, and Kinaxis/Maestro Scenario Planning.

Position Description:

The Plan, Buy & Make BPKC Team Lead is accountable for the strategic direction, leadership, and development of the Global Supply Chain BPKC - Plan, Buy & Make team. This leadership position will ensure the Plan, Buy & Make team resources deliver improvements which leverage the use of SAP and related technologies to make supply chain business processes more efficient and effective. This position is also accountable for ensuring end users located at manufacturing sites, affiliates, inbound warehouses, distribution centers and Global Business Solution Centers are supported in their day-to-day operations. The Plan, Buy & Make Team Lead is responsible for developing, motivating, and growing a world class organization.

Key Responsibilities Include:

People Management and Development
  • Recruit, develop, retain, and motivate talent to ensure success
  • Establish the performance objectives for the Plan, Buy & Make team
  • Manage performance and ensure team member development by providing regular feedback and coaching
  • Manage capacity of team resources and assign them to projects or other initiatives to further develop skill set and experiences
  • Formally mentor and develop teammates across BPKC teams, Global Supply Chain, and manufacturing
  • This position is expected to have 5-10 subordinates
Strategy Development and Management
  • Customer Experience
    • Eliminate obstacles to improve customer experience
    • Accountable for overseeing the development and delivery of team communications on strategy, organization, and key initiatives
    • Work with and Global Supply Chain (GSC) to define strategy and processes to deliver GSC transformation and technical roadmaps and address business needs and innovation opportunities
  • Relationship Management
    • Own and cultivate strong partnerships with Global Supply Chain, manufacturing site supply chain teams, master data organizations and GBS
    • Provide oversight of vision, goals, and objectives for team
    • Develop strong partnerships and engagement with Global Business Process Owners and the Manufacturing Expansion team to deliver projects and business support
    • Foster productive and positive strategic relationships and manage integration among partners and the customer base
    • Lead Communities of Practice(s) driving engagement of all members while addressing needs and concerns of customers and business partners
  • Budget Management
    • Responsible for management of the team budget and associated operating expenses and capital spend
    • Responsible for making budget trade-off decisions for the team
    • Contribute to the development of the Supply Chain BPKC business plan
    • Develop strategy for capacity management to determine and communicate when temporary resources are required
    • Maintain timely and accurate billing of project resources
  • Risk Management
    • Responsible for understanding, implementation, and adherence to company policies, processes and external obligations, as applicable
    • Ensure team operates in compliance with The Red Book, Corporate Integrity Agreement, Financial Policies and all Compliance procedures
Global Supply Chain BPKC Operations Management and Oversight
  • Ensure organization delivers on approved project timelines and deliverables
  • Ensure business process support is provided for Plan, Buy & Make to manufacturing sites, Global Business Solution Centers, and supply chain teams to meet positive customer experiences
  • Build relationships and conduct process discussions to ensure supply chain processes are understood, stable, controlled, and efficient
  • Identify and solve a range of organizational and operational problems and technical challenges
  • Provide oversight and participation in projects focused on leading change and process improvements
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives within the Global Supply Chain organization
  • Lead and/or engage in Plan, Buy & Make projects and business support as needed
Basic Requirements:

A successful candidate demonstrates the ability to achieve business results through leading others and has:
  • 5 years SAP and industry experience in supply chain or data management with some formal leadership responsibilities
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain/Materials Management, Engineering, Sciences, Finance, Business Administration, or Information Technology
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams across supply chain, finance, and/or technical roles
Additional Skills/Preferences:
  • Extensive knowledge of supply chain and manufacturing operations and the Plan, Buy & Make business processes and their interconnectivity
  • Strong SAP knowledge and experiences to offer direction, oversight, and guidance on how SAP can be leveraged to meet business process needs
  • Strong communication and organizational skills and ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional decision-making with a focus on results
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize opportunities and form a vision for what can be achieved, set or strongly influence the setting of direction, exceed expectations on deliverables
  • Proven ability to coach and develop people in a way that leads to superior work performance
  • Ability to work and lead effectively in a virtual team environment with multiple internal and external business partners/service providers.
  • Previous experience supporting multiple countries for a global company utilizing a shared service center support structure
  • Knowledge of local business processes requirements
  • Previous SAP implementation experience
  • Effective project management skills
  • Excellent English written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly to complex circumstances and situations, learn while doing, and navigate through an ambiguous situation or issue quickly
  • APICS CPIM and/or CLTD Certifications

  • Some international travel will be required (up to 20% of the working time)

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate's education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$124,500 - $182,600
