Associate Designer

Minimum Requirements: Bachelors degree in fashion design, or related field and at least 3 years of related experience. Some telecommuting is permitted within commuting distance of the URBN offices in Philadelphia, PA. Special Requirements: Position requires at least 2 years of experience in each of the following skills: 1. Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design, to utilize for sketching, rendering, flat cads, pack building as well as fabric and trim pack building for sourcing from mills and suppliers. 2. Understanding of technical textiles including woven and knit, insulations, functional attributes, and treatments in textiles and trims. In addition, globally source and develop raw materials. 3. Possesses a highly creative and unique vision specific to designing consumer needs in the Outerwear and Snow activewear category. 4. Understanding of how to curate visual presentations and deliver verbal presentation of design ideas including fabric and trim concept trends in high level meetings to leadership. 5. Experience mocking/patterning physical samples to utilize for sketch and final product phases to support design vision. 6. Understanding of technical and functional garments regarding fit changes and conducting detailed call outs in live fittings on fit, construction and finishing details. 7. Experience with style development ensuring product execution meets design expectations, including involvement with global vendor and factory partners pertaining to style development.
