Job Summary
This position is responsible for directing assigned activities and operations in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences
Responsibilities
Provide critical leadership in strategic planning, curriculum development, and the creation of innovative programs, directly addressing evolving healthcare workforce needs (30%).
- Lead the development and implementation of new academic programs, with a focus on public health, health informatics, and allied health specialties.
- Conduct market analysis and needs assessments to identify opportunities for new program development.
- Collaborate with faculty to develop and revise curriculum, ensuring alignment with industry standards and best practices.
- Foster interdisciplinary collaboration within the College and across the University.
- Oversee program accreditation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage faculty recruitment, development, and evaluation.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, healthcare organizations, and industry leaders.
Direct Current Health Sciences programs (30%).
- Direct the Caregiving Issues and Management Program, including developing course offerings and schedules.
- Direct the Exercise Science Bachelor of Science degree program, including scheduling courses, creating curriculum content, tracking student enrollment, and program evaluation.
- Direct the Bachelor of Science Long Term Care Management degree program, including scheduling courses, creating curriculum content, tracking student enrollment, and program evaluation.
- Direct the Case Coordinator & Care Endorsement program, including oversight of course offerings & scheduling.
- Oversight & experience with clinical internships.
Perform other management duties (30%).
- Maintains relationships with other University, College of Nursing & Health Sciences, and within the community.
- Represents the College and the institute at the state, national, and international level.
- Provides information to the public about College and institute programs and services.
- Develops and monitors budgets.
- Informs the public concerning caregiving careers and caregiving best practices.
- Develops and maintain articulation agreements with other colleges to facilitate a pipeline of students to Health Sciences.
Performs a variety of related duties. (10%)
- Carry a 6 hr. academic courseload per semester.
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in a course of study related to a Health Science occupational field required.
- More than five years of related experience required.
- Demonstrated experience in academic leadership and administration.
- Proven track record of successful program development and implementation.
- Knowledge of current trends and issues in healthcare and health sciences education.
- Strong understanding of accreditation processes and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of program accreditation requirements for Health Science degree programs.
- Knowledge of program assessment and strategic planning strategies.
- Knowledge of College program requirements.
- Knowledge of classroom practices, teaching methodologies, assessment systems, and educational technology.
- Knowledge of the best practices in the field of caregiving and exercise science.
- Knowledge of long term care management principles and exercise physiology principles.
