Job Description:
Budget Title: Associate Dean ( MP3/Management Confidential)
Salary: Commensurate with Experience
This position is under the administrative review of the Dean, to assist and engage in all matters of administrative concern, and to be responsible for special projects and/or programs as assigned.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:- In collaboration with the dean, coordinate and manage SOM financial reporting and interactions with SUNY, Binghamton University, Binghamton University Foundation and the Research Foundation as required; supervise SOM professional and classified staff with budget accounting/reporting responsibilities.
- Coordinate and prepare draft accreditation reports, including data coordination and data presentation/visualization for both business program and accounting program accreditation cycles.
- Collaborate closely with dean and faculty to identify and prioritize strategic opportunities that align with emerging priorities and the school's/university's overall mission and vision.
- Lead Assistant Deans in the preparation of curriculum documents such as reports, reviews, course/program proposals, according to school and university policies and procedures; manage marketing and communication content development as needed, and in coordination with assistant dean and personnel from university communications.
- Advise and assist in the strategic planning of the school, and assist in the implementation and evaluation of the strategic plan.
- Manage the development and implementation of innovative undergraduate and graduate programs that adapt to emerging business trends and the needs of students and employers.
- Supervise Graduate and Undergraduate Academic Advising processes, including professional and classified personnel.
- Supervise SOM Career Services processes, including professional and classified personnel.
- Assist Associate and Assistant Deans in initiatives with budget, curriculum and policy and procedure development as needed.
- Manage the travel Request & Authorization process.
- Represent the School of Management on various campus committees, including but not limited to participate in the formulation of applicable university policy.
- Represent the school with visiting alumni and outside organizations as needed.
- Travel in support of alumni and external stakeholder engagement, and expansion of career opportunities for students, including representation at academic competitions as needed.
- Maintain SOM key deadlines with regard to primary functions of budget/finances, academic programming and reporting, hiring, AACSB accreditation and university compliance; ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with school and university priorities.
- Represent the SOM in relevant national and international forums, conferences, and meetings related to business education and research.
- Conduct research as needed (including conference papers, journals and/or grants) to maintain academic qualifications as defined by AACSB.
- Lead and/or participate with collaborative teams to secure external funding opportunities that support strategic initiatives, including grants, fellowships, and industry partnerships.
- Manage special programs or projects as assigned.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- PhD degree
- Experience with accreditation and/or other related regulatory processes
- Experience managing professional and classified staff
- Experience in conducting research, including qualitative and quantitative data analysis, and designing/implementing appropriate performance assessments
- Experience as an instructor and/or advisor to students
- Technical writing skills (e.g., grant proposal, research report, etc.)
- Oral and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience with alumni engagement/constituent relations
- Familiarity and understanding of the mission of the School of Management, including its teaching and research functions
