Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Consultant, Data and Analytics to join our growing analytics team. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable business insights through advanced visualization and analytical techniques. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, develop intuitive dashboards, and implement data-driven solutions that drive decision-making. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills in Power BI and other analytics tools, combined with the ability to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver key business insights
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into effective data visualizations
- Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources including databases, APIs, and flat files
- Create and optimize DAX measures and calculated columns to enhance data models
- Implement data quality checks and validation procedures to ensure accuracy of reporting
- Participate in data governance initiatives and documentation of data sources
- Research and implement best practices for data visualization and dashboard design
- Support ad-hoc analysis requests and special projects as needed
- Collaborate with data engineers to improve data pipelines and architecture
- Stay current on Power BI features and functionality through continuous learning
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or related role
- Demonstrated proficiency with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service
- Experience with data modeling, DAX, and Power Query (M language)
- Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present data insights clearly
- Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams
Technical Skills
- Power BI (essential): Dashboard creation, report design, DAX formulas, data modeling
- SQL (intermediate to advanced)
- Excel (advanced): Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis
- Knowledge of ETL processes and tools
- Experience with version control systems (eg, Git) a plus
- Understanding of data governance principles
Work Location
This position requires onsite presence at client locations and/or our San Francisco office up to 2 days per week. Candidates must reside within a commutable distance of the San Francisco Bay Area. This position is hybrid (partial remote/partial onsite) and is not eligible for full remote work.

Compensation
As required by California law, the base salary range for this position in San Francisco is $80,000 to $110,000. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
