UofL Health - Jewish Hospital is looking for an Associate Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) to help drive excellence in patient care, operational efficiency, and nursing professional practice.


As the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, you will play a pivotal role in our organization, driving nurse-led quality improvements and ensuring effective clinical operations. Reporting to the Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer and working closely with medical staff leaders, you will oversee daily outpatient and inpatient nursing services. Your responsibilities will include managing nursing professional practice and ensuring high-quality care delivery.


Job Summary

In this role, we're searching for an engaged individual who is skilled in clinical operations that will be a key driver to assist in achieving nurse-driven quality outcomes.


The ACNO also:


• Identifies areas of potential care redesign and will lead initiatives to meet objectives of improved efficiencies, effectiveness, and patient experience


• Provides administrative direction to management staff within areas of responsibility including supporting plan development, priority-setting, decision-making, and professional development


• Assists and supports the CNO daily


• Supports the VP/CNO in the planning of meetings, events, and other assignments


Other Functions:


• Serves as role model and resource for professional colleagues. Participates in leadership activities such as committees, professional organizations, publishing, teaching, and research


• Presents a courteous and helpful demeanor, appropriate for age, to all patients, visitors, other UofL Health employees/medical staff members, or any other person an employee encounters while representing UofL Health


• Develops, recommends, implements, and monitors contracts for services


• Assures adequate and competent staffing support to nursing services


• Helps with other projects as delegated by the VP/CNO


• Participates in community activities on behalf of the hospital. Assists in community health events and education as needed


• Maintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct


• Complies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all times


• Performs other duties as assigned


Education:


• Master's Degree in Nursing, Administration, Education, or other Leadership field (required)


• Doctor of Nursing Practice preferred.


Experience:


• Clinical practice in an acute care environment, preferably in an academic medical setting (required).


• 5+ years of clinical and supervisory experience in a director level capacity or relevant experience required.
