The Law Office of Trevor L. Burgess is a small law firm specializing in areas such as but not limited to UPPA, divorce, child custody, military divorce, collaborative divorce, estate planning, probate, guardianship, and general civil litigation. The office is located in the prestigious Naylor House close by San Antonio College. Here we provide high-quality legal services to our diverse clientele. Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for practicing law, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. As an Associate Attorney, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of cases and contribute to the success of our clients. The ideal candidate will have some litigation knowledge, and/or the desire to learn how to litigate and assist us with managing a diverse portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
- Draft and review various legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Assist in the development of case strategies and participate in client meetings.
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal matters and case management.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and service.
- Support business development initiatives by participating in networking events and community outreach.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing of the Texas Bar Association.
- 1-3 years of legal experience, preferably in civil litigation
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a busy environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to client service and a strong work ethic.
- Desired: experience in Clio case management software
