Our firm is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Permanent Associate Attorney with a focus on Litigation Defense. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is eager to take on a high level of responsibility and work within a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the legal process, with a particular focus on defense litigation, legal document preparation, legal research, legal liability, legal advice, legal contract review, and legal case management. We are looking for someone who can bring a fresh perspective, innovative ideas and a passion for law to our team.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Associate Attorney, you will:
1. Represent and defend our clients (fortune 500 companies) in defense litigation matters, assuming case management responsibilities from inception through resolution.
2. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to advise clients on their legal rights and obligations.
3. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, contracts, and agreements.
4. Provide sound legal advice to clients, ensuring they understand their legal liability and potential impacts of different decisions.
5. Develop and implement defense strategies, working collaboratively with other team members and clients.
6. Participate in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediation sessions.
7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws, legal news, and trends in the industry, applying this knowledge to current cases and legal advice.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the State Bar.
3. A minimum of 2 years of experience in litigation, ideally in litigation defense.
4. Proven experience in legal research, drafting legal documents, and case management.
5. Strong understanding of legal liability, contract law, and the ability to provide sound legal advice.
6. Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
7. Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
8. Attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
9. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
10. A team player mentality, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and court personnel.
