(Contingent upon available funding): 0.00 - 0.00, Commensurate with education and experience Work Schedule: 8am to 5pm nights and weekends as scheduled Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Assist the Field Superintendent in overseeing and managing all aspects of maintenance and upkeep of the OSU Athletic Village fields and grounds as well as all associated equipment. This includes management and supervision of Assistant Field Superintendents and students. In the absence of the Athletic Field Superintendent, position is required to assume all duties of the superintendent. Directly responsible for communication with the baseball and softball coaches as well as overseeing and coordination of all aspects of the two sports. Assist in overseeing maintenance and regulations of all fields. Special Instructions to Applicants

Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Turfgrass Management or a related field.
Two years experience in groundskeeping at a college or professional venue and additionally a minimum of 1 year of supervisor experience.
Prior completed internships or experience can be substituted for post-graduate experience at the discretion of the Athletic Fields Superintendent.
Education may be substituted in lieu of years of experience. Additionally a minimum of 1 year of supervisor experience.
Valid driver license. Obtain within 6 months after hire: Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food & Forestry's Pesticide Applicator License
Knowledge of turf grass and pesticides with previous application experience.
Knowledge in the safe mechanical operation and calibration of mechanical equipment, hand operated as well as pressurized spray equipment, lawn mowers, weed-eaters, utility tractors. Knowledge of aerating, verticutting, sweeping, topdressing fertilization and irrigation repair.
Knowledge in proper field layout and measuring including football and soccer fields.
Knowledge in equipment maintenance including preventative maintenance.
Knowledge in computerized based irrigation systems and procedures.
Knowledge in applicable Major League Baseball rules for field setup.
Knowledge in principles and practices of effective employee supervision including training, work evaluation and discipline.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to make weekly work schedules for student workers.
Ability to plan and organize work; schedule equipment and personnel to ensure tasks get completed in a timely manner.
Prepare clear and concise reports on fertilizer and chemical applications.
Ability to hire and train all student workers.
Understand and ensure proper safety techniques in the field.
Knowledge in mound/homeplate/baseline construction and repair.
Ability to comprehend and make inferences from written material in relation to keeping tasks on schedule.
Ability to run a crew in the absence of the Athletic Field Superintendent.
Ability to make note of necessary work and relay information to the Superintendent and student workers.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the workplace.
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications:Two years of supervisory experience
