Job Description:


Essential Functions of the Position:

Assist Head Coach in managing all phases of a NCAA, Division III women's soccer program with specific responsibilities outlined below:

  1. Understand, support and embody team's overarching philosophy as developed by Head Coach.
  2. Teach proper soccer techniques in position groups assigned by the head coach and assess skill development.
  3. Assist planning practice and game planning
  4. Recruit future student athletes who understand and are prepared for the demands presented by small, private-college, non-scholarship athletic programs. Includes: knowledge and use of Frontrush, travel, nightly calls, conducting campus visits.
  5. Instruct concepts of overall physical health and safety for both individuals and the team.
  6. Educate students on NCAA Division III rules and Marietta College Athletics Department Learning Outcomes
  7. Scout opponents by analyzing video and/or traveling to games
  8. Monitor Heart Rate systems
  9. Monitor academic progress of team members
  10. Keep detailed inventory records
  11. Teach a 1-credit skill class in each semester
  12. Perform athletic department duties as assigned by the athletic director. Such duties may include: game day management for other sports, facility supervision, intramural supervision, sports information assistance or other.

  1. Uphold the high professional standard of conduct expected of each person on campus and outlined in our Employee Handbook.
  2. Build positive interpersonal relationships in and out of the athletic department by attending College functions, both social and professional; staff meetings; faculty meetings; serving on committees; etc.

Requirements:


Required Experience & Education:
  1. Bachelor's degree required
  2. Previous college playing and coaching experience preferred
Required Skills and Abilities:
  1. Exceptional understanding of soccer with strong knowledge of the technical aspects of every position
  2. Interpersonal communication skills necessary to successfully teach and motivate student athletes and work effectively with various constituents on and off campus.
  3. Knowledge of NCAA, OAC and Marietta College rules and guidelines
  4. Knowledge of recruiting software, scouting software and Microsoft Office products.
  5. Strength and Conditioning Certification encouraged
  6. Must possess a strong commitment to diversity and inclusiveness
  7. Current valid driver's license and successful completion of a background check.
  8. Flexibility to work nights and weekends
  9. Must be able to travel, and possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable by Marietta's insurance carrier
