Summary of Job Duties:
The Assistant Women's Basketball Coach will: assist the head coach in the overall operation of a Division I women's basketball program. This position will provide skill instruction to players, take on the role of defensive coordinator by planning and implement the new defensive scheme, prepare scouting reports, assist in practice planning, game preparation, and film breakdown, assist in all facets of the process to recruit athletically and academically qualified student-athletes. Perform administrative and public relations duties as assigned by the head coach.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least two years of women's basketball coaching experience at the High School, AAU, or Collegiate level
  • Experience planning and implementing defensive schemes
  • Experience with in-season off-campus recruiting activities
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Experience with international recruiting
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations
  • Knowledge of technical aspects of the assigned sport and willingness to continue to learn and examine new ideas pertinent to the assigned sport
  • Ability to work nights and weekends
  • Ability to work with potential students with diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to use sound judgment and critical thinking skills when determining students' needs
