Advertised Job Summary:Assistant Coach will report to the Head Coach and assist in the planning, recruiting, coaching, developing, implementing, communication and administering of program to achieve University and Department objectives. Will be required to assist in the direction and control of the program in accordance with NCAA, SEC and University rules and regulations.
Job Related Minimum Required Education and Experience:Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications:Division I coaching experience preferred, experience implementing a successful recruiting plan strongly preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Extensive and technical knowledge of the sport. Ability to communicate effectively with recruits, students, parents, staff and members of the fan base and community.
Job Duty:Recruiting - implement a comprehensive recruiting plan. Identify and recruit athletically and academically qualified student-athletes to compete at the highest level of competition in the SEC and nationally. Maintain database of high school prospects; send out regular information and updates on the program, keep track of all incoming and outgoing correspondence as it relates to recruits.

Job Duty:Coaching responsibilities during competition - in conjunction with Head Coach, organize and implement individual practice plans for student-athletes, assist players with preparation, practice, coach during competition, give advice and assist with strategy, scout both recruits and opponents as needed.

Job Duty:Maintain open communication with Academic staff as it relates to student-athletes' academic progress and any needs in that area. Monitor students' adherence to study hall and tutor assignments, class attendance and APR progress guidelines for graduation and eligibility. Maintain communication with team physicians as it relates to any injuries, rehab and overall safety and health of student-athletes. Perform any administrative duties needed in the areas of scheduling, team travel, recruiting travel, official and unofficial visits, etc. Other duties as assigned by Head Coach.
