The University of Akron, a NCAA Division 1 (FBS) institution and member of the

Mid-American Conference (MAC) is currently seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Volleyball Coach. This position will provide support and assistance to the volleyball program by contributing to the coaching, recruiting and

administrative efforts of the department.

Duties

Assist in the recruitment of student-athletes through observations of ability and talent in accordance with the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Mid-American Conference (MAC) and the University of Akron.

Provide technical expertise and utilize sound coaching methods aimed to

improving the athletic performance of student-athletes.

Assist with the monitoring of student-athletes academics.

Assist with the planning and supervision of in-season and out-of-season practices and competitions and team and individual practices.

Assist with scouting of opponents and creation of a game plan for each game.

Participate in marketing and promotion activities to generate fan support and alumni/donor engagement.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree required. Requires a minimum of 1 year experience coaching and/or playing volleyball at the collegiate level. An understanding of recruitment procedures and the technical fundamentals and principles of volleyball required. Strong communication skills and organizational skills required.
