The Assistant Construction Superintendent will provide direct support to the lead superintendent on major hospital campus projects across NYC. The successful applicant must have experience in occupied hospitals OR a strong understanding of MEP Infrastructure.

Our client is a large General Contractor who is rapidly growing in the healthcare construction sector. They have a strong pipeline of large-scale hospital campus fit-outs through 2026.

Description

  • Provide direct support to the lead superintendent on occupied hospital projects on Long Island
  • Direct day-to-day on-site supervision of field labor force
  • Manage schedules, including preparation of detailed short-term schedules and ensuring all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates
  • Monitor costs, including labor time and material
  • Attend and participate in project meetings, including subcontractor meetings
  • Develop and maintain site logistics plan
  • Conduct quality inspections
  • Prepare and submit Superintendent's Daily Reports

Profile

  • 3+ years experience in occupied hospitals OR strong knowledge of MEP systems (HVAC, plumbing, medical gases, electrical infrastructure)
  • Experience managing renovations, additions, or infrastructure upgrades in occupied healthcare environments.
  • Proven ability to coordinate with hospital staff to minimize disruption to patient care.
  • OSHA 10 or 30
  • Exhibits strong leadership qualities
  • Strong decision making/problem solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
