The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for achieving high customer satisfaction and increasing sales through the implementation of Fortune's strategic plan. At strategic and tactical levels, the incumbent will engage customers in a courteous manner and presenting the company favorably. The position also requires Team Member leadership capability and the delivery of exceptional customer service, including but not limited to; providing a comfortable shopping experience, greeting customers, and answering questions in a courteous manner.
Responsibilities:
• Provide retail leadership by supporting the Store Manager and helping to manage the business from a customer service, operations and Team Member perspective.
• Assist with managing store Team Members in all respects, including but not limited to; hiring, development, discipline, performance management, etc.
• Lead customer service efforts by providing outstanding service in a welcoming environment.
• Develop and maintain ongoing product knowledge to provide additional value to customers. Train junior staff to increase their product knowledge.
• Assist with managing the merchandising processes, including; monitoring, maintaining, and servicing display cases. Ensure the inventory is properly rotated to extend shelf life.
• Maintain a clean work area to ensure the highest standards of sanitation.
• Manage customer inquiries professionally and with effective communication skills.
• Effectively manage time and organize workflow to meet customer service expectations and/ or project deadlines.
• Exhibit ability to work safely and follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with Store Manager to continuously improve the customer service experience, product selection and overall retail operations.
• Ensure store is "presentation-ready" at all times through effective product placement & facing, appealing signage, and cleanliness.
• Assist with managing the purchasing process within established budgetary targets and be willing to teach this process to others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
• Education - High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience - One to two years of retail leadership experience, preferably working with Seafood or with other proteins.
• Work ethic - A demonstrated sense of urgency in meeting critical and time sensitive deadlines.
• Language - Ability to communicate in English.
• Hours - Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and nights, to meet customer and business needs.
