Position: Assistant Manager

Family owned since 1990, Downtown Ace Hardware is legendary for great customer

service, a large product selection, and in-depth product knowledge.

Downtown Ace Hardware is looking for a qualified assistant

manager that will uphold our legacy of excellent customer service, who will

exceed customers' expectations by delivering consistent, knowledgeable and

friendly service every time.

An effective assistant manager will maximize productivity,

identify opportunities and set high standards.

They must demonstrate knowledge of the store's procedures, purpose and

goals. They must work well within a team

and be goal oriented. They must be

dependable, engaged and energetic in their work.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 5 years' retail management experience

A vast knowledge of hardware related products and a

willingness to learn

A positive attitude and a willingness to address and solve

problems quickly

Strong leadership and team-building skills

Ability to handle conflict respectfully

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks with a high

degree of detail

Able to be on your feet for up to 8 hours daily

Able to lift 40 lbs.

What to Expect

The assistant manager will serve as the Manager on Duty

during some or all of a shift, and is responsible for all operations during

that time. You will:

Exceed customer service expectations following our WOW

process

Open and close the store regularly

Implement in-store marketing and promotional events

Oversee and assist with visual merchandising

Resolve customer and employee issues quickly and

professionally

Work with the store manager to identify and achieve store

goals

Lead employees to meet and exceed store goals

Become proficient in all store technologies: POS system,

mobile devices, Ace app, inventory system, Microsoft Office

Engage in a fast-paced, high energy, multi-directional work environment

Develop and execute ideas to improve store traffic and sales

Learn, master and train all store procedures

Provide stability and consistency for employees and customers

Receive, price, merchandise all inventory

Keep a clean, tidy, organized and safe store

Maintain product assortment, back-stock, orderly shelves and

outdoor space

Initiate and lead cycle-counting processes and inventory

maintenance

Availability:

Requires weekends, evenings, holidays. 30-40 hours a week. The store is closed on Easter, Thanksgiving,

Christmas and New Years Day.

Compensation:

Pay range $20-$22 per hour, with potential for higher pay based on

skill level and experience.
