The Company Equipment Services Plus is a family owned and operated company with location in the Midwest. Equipment Services Plus operates across Chicagoland, servicing the entire Midwest. We offer onsite breakdown, compactor & baler installation, and preventative maintenance to service our commercial and industrial customers. The fundamental responsibility of the Assistant Shop Manager is assisting the shop manager in reviewing and writing work orders daily, ordering parts per work orders from technicians, running reports to review efficiency and effectiveness of our shop and overall organization of data and records for the shop. Please only apply if you have experience in the trucking/automotive industry, and have strong computer skills. Essential Functions of the Position
  • monitoring & managing budgets on major repair jobs
  • forecasting, ordering, spare parts inventory
  • Entry of work orders daily
  • coordinating the completion of repairs with the direction of shop manager
  • looking for new ways/tools/assets to improve productivity
  • drafting maintenance reports

Requirements
  • Waste and/or recycling industry and Plant/mobile equipment knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders; Knowledge of industry equipment to make sound decisions when ordering and supplying parts for the Shop. Order parts needed from outlined specifications.
  • Communicate orally in the English language with, telephone and in face-to-face, one-to-one settings.
  • Make rational business decisions in the absence of an upper management supervisor.
  • Maintenance experience required.
Education:
  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Bilingual a plus
Experience:
  • Related industry: 1 years (Preferred)
License/Certification:
  • Driver's License (Preferred)
