Job Opportunity - Assistant Property Manager MHA seeks an enthusiastic, career minded, self-motivated individual to serve as the Assistant Property Manager for an affordable housing community. The position will be responsible for assisting with the operational functions of a multi-family housing development. Reports to the Senior Property Manager.
Primary Responsibilities - Assist with core business processes, such as leasing, occupancy, resident relations, marketing, maintenance, budgeting, rent collection, social services, maintenance and administration.
- Perform various property management functions, such as showing vacant apartments to prospective residents, assisting with move-in and move-out processes, granting rent extensions, and conducting home visits.
- Collect rent and fees from tenants; Issue receipts and prepare computer documents; Balance daily cash statements; Prepare bank deposits, daily transmittal form, and support documents; Follow up on late rent payments.
- Answer phone calls professionally and take appropriate action, whether the caller is a prospective resident, current resident, Authority team member, or vendor.
- Assist residents with routine problems and provide limited counseling.
- Process resident service requests completely and accurately; Route to maintenance for prompt processing; Conduct resident follow-up.
Qualifications/Requirements - High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 2+ years of experience in multi-family housing management
- Ability to communicate fluently
- Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Professional image
- Valid Georgia driver's license, proof of personal auto insurance, and acceptable driving record
Desired Skills - Keen attention to detail
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with special needs populations and individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA) and HOME programming experience
- Yardi experience
- Professional communication with vendors, residents, and coworkers
- Flexible to change and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Professional personal appearance
- Initiative to assume leadership in the absence of the manager
Salary Starting range based on experience: $16.00 -.$18.00
