Position Summary

CEG Capital Partners, CEG Advisors and CEG Management ("CEG"), a commercial real estate company headquartered in San Diego, CA, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Assistant Property Accountant. The Assistant Property Accountant will play a vital supporting role in CEG's accounting operations by assisting the Senior/Lead Property Accountant with day-to-day financial tasks related to our property portfolio. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and looking to grow in a dynamic and fast-paced real estate environment. This is a part-time position that has the potential to expand into a Full time position.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

The Assistant Property Accountant Position shall be responsible for the following activities:

  • Assist with monthly financial reporting for a portfolio of commercial properties

  • Record and reconcile bank deposits, accounts payable, and accounts receivable

  • Review and enter vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and approvals

  • Help maintain and reconcile general ledgers for each property entity

  • Assist in preparing financial packages and variance reports for ownership and internal review

  • Support the Senior Accountant in month-end and year-end close processes

  • Collaborate with the property management team to ensure accurate rent roll and tenant charges

  • Respond to internal and external accounting-related inquiries as needed

Position Requirements:

  • Rent Manager experience a plus but not required.

  • 2-3+ years of related accounting experience, preferably in retail, industrial and office property management.

  • Strong accounts payable, accounts receivable, and systems knowledge.

  • Proficient computer skills, and a plus to be fluent in operating in a Windows-based environment.

  • Able to take direction and work as part of a team.

Pay & Schedule:

The hourly pay offered for this position shall be $28-$33/hr, dependent on experience. As the position is part-time, it will not offer health insurance or 401K retirement plan.

The schedule can be flexible and adjusted as the schedule requires, but the suggested targeted hours shall be Monday through Friday during normal business hours, not to exceed 25 hours, with the ability to work remotely part of the time depending on circumstances.
