We are seeking a dynamic Tax Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of state and local tax compliance, planning, and research. This challenging and rewarding role requires not only a deep understanding of tax law but also the ability to translate this knowledge into practical, cost-effective strategies that align with our company's goals.

Responsibilities:

As a Tax Manager, your role would encompass a wide range of duties, including:

  • Overseeing all state and local tax filings to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Developing and implementing tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize cash flow.
  • Researching and analyzing complex tax issues, and providing guidance and advice to senior management.
  • Leading the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide tax expertise on business initiatives.
  • Managing tax audits and inquiries, and negotiating with tax authorities as needed.
  • Staying abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations, and assessing their impact on the company.
  • Providing leadership and direction to the tax team, including mentoring and developing staff.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in public accounting.
  • Deep knowledge of state and local tax laws and regulations.
  • Proven experience in tax planning and strategy development.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to research and interpret tax laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to oversee and develop a high-performing tax team.
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA designation or a Master's degree in Taxation would be an asset.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
