Job Title: Assistant Project Manager - Civil Construction
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) with 2-3 years of experience in a Project Engineer role for a civil contractor. This role offers an exciting opportunity for career growth, allowing the ideal candidate to step into a leadership position. As an APM, you will supervise and mentor Project Engineers while gradually managing small-scale civil construction projects, with oversight and guidance from senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing the execution of civil construction projects.
Supervise and provide mentorship to Project Engineers, ensuring they are on track with their tasks and deliverables.
Assist in managing project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and project specifications.
Communicate with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project progress and resolve any issues.
Assist in preparing and reviewing project documentation such as reports, change orders, and contracts.
Contribute to the preparation of project proposals, bids, and progress updates.
Gradually take on responsibility for managing smaller-scale projects, with support from senior leadership and training.
Ideal Candidate:
2-3 years of experience as a Project Engineer in civil construction.
- Preference given to applicants with prior excavation/land development experience.
Strong understanding of civil construction processes, regulations, and industry standards.
Experience in supervising and leading teams or a desire to grow into a leadership role.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in construction management software and MS Office Suite.
A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Managemenent, or a related field is preferred.
