Juniata College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Science. We are looking to hire a faculty member with a Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related field. Knowledge of wetland ecology and environmental regulation is a plus. The start date is flexible with a preferred start date of August 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in candidate's area of expertise.
  • Establish a robust research program that involves undergraduate students, and the possibility of master's students, and contributes to the field of environmental science.
  • Engage in departmental and college-wide service activities, including curriculum development and student advising.
  • Collaborate with local and regional organizations on environmental issues and contribute to community outreach efforts.

Position Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and research.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive academic environment and working effectively with a diverse student body.
  • Ability to integrate undergraduate research into teaching and mentoring.
