Job Description:
The Decker College of Nursing and Health Sciences (DCNHS), Division of Health and Wellness Studies, invites applications for 2 Assistant Professor positions. We are seeking applicants with a background and established research emphasis in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Measurement & Evaluation, Theory & Research, and Statistics. These full-time, tenure-track faculty positions are at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in Fall 2025. Applicants should highlight their experience with a transdisciplinary approach to research, program development, and grant writing.
The successful candidates will possess evaluation research interest and capability to teach in the new Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences program. Collaborative qualities of the candidates are essential as evidenced by previous work on grant applications and projects.
Preference is given to those who have taught at the undergraduate level with experience teaching health-related pre-professionals. The positions may require teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as faculty responsibilities such as advising, committee responsibilities, scholarship, and service to the school and university. Experience with a variety of technologies to support on-line as well as in class teaching is preferred. Participation and membership in professional organizations is encouraged.
Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience and academic preparation. The Division of Health and Wellness emphasizes teaching, research, and service. We anticipate beginning applicant review as soon as possible. These positions report to the Director of Health and Wellness Studies.
Requirements:
Required:
- PhD in Exercise Science, Physiology, Kinesiology or health-related field by September 1, 2025.
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience teaching health sciences or a health and wellness program.
- Experience working on grant applications and/or projects
Preferred:
- Experience teaching undergraduate level, health-related courses.
- Experience teaching in a higher education setting.
- Current relevant certifications, such as Registered Dietician, ACSM, CHES, etc.
