Job Summary/Basic Function:About This Role:
The Department of Psychology at Lamar University invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
Successful candidates will:
- Teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate- (e.g., general psychology, I/O psychology, introduction to statistics, research methods) and master's-level (e.g., organizational behavior, leadership, performance management, recruitment & selection).
- Maintain an active program of research that (ideally) involves undergraduate and graduate students.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate student research.
- Serve on graduate student thesis committees.
- Actively engage in service to the department, college, and university.
What You'll Do - Position Responsibilities:- Implement effective teaching strategies while teaching a 4/4 load fall & spring semesters
- Provide clinical supervision to graduate students.
- Actively participate in academic service at the department, college, and university levels.
- Serve on graduate student thesis committees.
Key Competencies:- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to implement effective and innovative teaching strategies.
- Ability to maintain active program of research.
- Demonstrated commitment to service to the university, profession, and community.

Benefits - Lamar University Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience):- This position requires a minimum of a PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. ABD applicants will be considered; however, the applicant must have earned their doctorate prior to August 2025.
