JDP is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager for a manufacturing company in Dallas, TX area. The candidate will be assisting the Plant Manager in managing and operating the facility in a cost efficient, safe style while producing a quality product. The Assistant Plant Manager will be responsible for directing the work of the production personnel as well as supervisory duties.


Responsibilities:

  • Supervise manufacturing activity across all shifts to comply corporate guidelines in safety, reliability, quality appearance, cost and reliability
  • Manage the safety of all production personnel through Cal-OSHA regulations, safety programs, and maintain the attitude of all accidents are preventable
  • Schedules activities for the efficient utilization of machines, materials and manpower
  • In the event of the Plant Managers' absence, ensures dependable service to refineries and continue positives relationships with all suppliers
  • Manage a basic maintenance program, including preventative maintenance schedule, to meet productivity demands
  • Maintains and conforms sanitation of the facility by following corporate and good manufacturing practice requirements
  • Measures performance against established objectives in Quality, Reliability, Safety, and Cost and directs production activities to meet those objectives
  • Assists the Plant Manager in startup activities and capital project scheduling
  • Contribute to working relationships with the local community including local charitable organizations, neighbors, Chambers of Commerce, and the Port of Stockton or Los Angeles
  • Direct production activities for compliance with all regulatory agencies leading the facility
  • Supervise loading and transfer of product for marine containers and bulk vessel shipments
  • Supervise production activities to meet shipping schedule


Requirements:

  • 5+ years in supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food
  • Experience as an operations department supervisor
  • Ability to write procedural documents
  • Ability to calculate production schedules and verify batch records
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Oracle experience is a plus
