As an Assistant Patternmaker at Beyond Clothing, you'll play a key role in the product development process-helping bring technical apparel to life with precision and purpose. Working side-by-side with our Patternmaker, you'll support fittings, assist in pattern preparation, calculate fabric usage, and contribute to mockups. This role is designed for someone who's detail-oriented, eager to grow their skills, and excited to work hands-on with innovative tools like laser cutters and 3D fit software
What you'll do: - Measuring garments and preparing spec sheets for live fittings & evaluation
- Taking detailed notes & photos during fit sessions
- Making markers for cutting
- Plotting patterns
- Filling out measurements on spec sheets
- Calculating fabric yields and checking simple grading
- Assisting Patternmaker with mockups, which may include some sewing, laser cutting, machine cutting and hand-cutting fabrics
- The Assistant Patternmaker will be mentored by the Patternmaker and will eventually make some simple pattern changes, prepare files for 3D evaluation and make simple patterns.
What you bring:- Associate or bachelor's degree in apparel or specific technical trade school and/or equivalent industry specific work experience required
- Ability to accurately execute 3-D garment fit issues into 2-D pattern corrections
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Adobe Illustrator required
- Optitex or equivalent pattern software experience required
- 3D pattern software experience preferred, but not required
Pay Range: $24.00-$28.00 per hour plus bonus.
