Assistant Men's Basketball Coach (AP25-055) who's ready to run with the pack and elevate our Men's Basketball program to new heights.
The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach reports directly to the Head Coach and is responsible for assisting in the organization and administration of the Men's Basketball program in accordance with the rules and regulations of the University, Ohio Valley Conference and NCAA with an emphasis on basketball operations and player development.
The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach must have a commitment to developing a competitive NCAA Division I Men's Basketball program, while maintaining an emphasis on the academic success of the student-athlete. The Assistant Men's Basketball Coach will be expected to assist the Head Coach with the administration of the program in a manner that promotes the health, safety and welfare of the student-athlete.
Compliance with NCAA rules is of the utmost importance at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. As a member of the athletics department staff it is expected that the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach will have a full understanding of the NCAA rules that pertain to the position. It is also expected that the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach will comply with all NCAA rules and if he/she becomes aware, or have reasonable cause to believe, that a violation of a rule has occurred he/she will immediately report it to the Director of Athletics or his/her designee.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications Minimum Acceptable Qualifications -Bachelor's Degree
-Previous collegiate or professional coaching experience, or professional playing experience
-Strong communication and organization skills
Preferred Qualifications -Master's Degree
-1+ years of collegiate experience as an NCAA Division I or II Assistant Coach or NCAA Division II or III, NAIA or NJCAA Head Coach experience, or professional playing experience
-Evidence of strong organizational and communication skills. Current knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
-A commitment to student-athlete welfare and academic success.
