Assistant General Manager - Hotel
Location: Columbia, MO
Salary: $60,000-$65,000 annually
Position Overview:
As the Assistant General Manager, you'll support the General Manager in all aspects of hotel operations-front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage (if applicable), and maintenance-while fostering a culture of service excellence and accountability. This is a key leadership role that requires operational knowledge, team development skills, and a passion for hospitality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing all day-to-day hotel operations and departments
- Lead, coach, and develop team members to uphold service standards and achieve performance goals
- Oversee front office, housekeeping, and maintenance teams, ensuring efficient and guest-focused operations
- Handle guest relations, including resolving complaints and ensuring satisfaction
- Monitor financial performance, labor costs, and departmental expenses
- Support hiring, onboarding, and training efforts
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety protocols, and local regulations
- Step in as Acting General Manager in their absence
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of hotel management experience (AGM, Operations Manager, or equivalent)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to drive guest satisfaction and operational efficiency
- Experience with property management systems (PMS) preferred
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred, but not required
