My client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager to join the leadership team of our well-established and thriving pub, located in the stunning heart of the Lake District. About the Role:
As Assistant General Manager, you will support the General Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth running of the pub while delivering exceptional guest experiences. You'll be a hands-on leader with a focus on team development, operational efficiency, and consistent delivery of food, drink, and service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily operations, including front of house, bar, and food service
Support the GM with staff management, training, and development
Ensure high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance
Manage stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships
Contribute to rotas, budgets, and cost control
Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally
Key holder - with responsibility of opening and closing the pub
Step in as acting manager in the absence of the GM
Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a busy pub environment
Strong leadership and communication skills
Customer-focused with a passion for quality service
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
Knowledge of hospitality systems and licensing regulations
A proactive and flexible approach with great attention to detail
Must be able to drive and have own vehicle
